We give thanks to God as we
celebrate the installation of Will Main as Vicar, in preparation for the Holy Ministry and in service to the LIGHT Lutheran Campus Ministry at Haskell Indian Nations University.
In his vicarage year, Will continues his education in ministry leading to ordination, while he serves the Native American students through Haskell LIGHT Campus Ministry, offering worship services, Bible study, and Christian fellowship.

At Haskell Indian Nations University, first-year students whether living on or off campus, are required to complete orientation classes. These classes are called Vision Quest. The goal is to prepare first-year students for campus life and expectations; academically, in dorm life and in extracurricular or social activities. A new step in this walk is that Vision Quest students will begin their Spiritual walk through the Haskell LIGHTHOUSE.
With a repetitive boom-boom-boom-boom, four First Nations and Native Americans chanted a paean of Christian praise! Jonathan Maracle, a
Mohawk Indian from Ontario, Canada, and his band, Broken Walls, opened their first concert at Haskell Indian Nations University on Sunday night, October 14. They had arrived in Lawrence, Kansas, October 13 and created interest with a short performance Saturday at the Signs Of Life Bookstore downtown. Their songs and sharing touched the hearts and lives of all they came in contact with during their performances. The name of Jesus was lifted up, and God was praised through their music, the movement of the dancers and the clear, clean tones of the voice of Jonathan Maracle who spoke of reconciliation and healing in Christ. More than three hundred people attended the concerts on Sunday and Monday, including more than 100 students. It was a fitting celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Haskell LIGHT Ministry founded by Wiley and Caryn Scott, and now directed by Will and Patricia Main.
